Ms. Shahnaz Wazir Ali
Ms. Shahnaz Wazir Ali is the Executive Director of the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP), in Islamabad, Pakistan. It’s a non-profit organization facilitating altruistic efforts of national and international donors by establishing effective linkages between the donors and nonprofit civil society organizations in Pakistan.
From 1997-2001, Ms. Wazir Ali served as the Senior Education Specialist at the World Bank in Islamabad providing policy, program and technical advice and assistance to the Federal and the 4 Provincial governments to facilitate the implementation of the countrywide Education Sector Social Action Program (SAP). From 1988 to 1990 Ms. Wazir Ali had been a Member of the National Assembly and Federal Minister of State for Education. She also served as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Sectors from 1993 to 1996.
Ms. Wazir Ali began her career as a primary school teacher in 1965. Now Ms. Wazir Ali is also a Trustee of the Education Trust which runs Nasra Schools for children of low-income families in Karachi and provides education to more than 10,000 students.
Mr. Jan Marinus Wiersma
Mr. Wiersma is a Dutch politician and was a Member of the European Parliament. He is a member of the Labour Party, vice-chair of the Party of European Socialists group, and sat on the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs. He was also a member of the Subcommittee on Security and Defence, a substitute for the Committee on International Trade, a member of the Delegation for relations with the countries of south-east Europe, and a member of the delegation to the EU–Moldova Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.
Mr. Wolfgang Wodarg MdB
Mr. Wodarg is a German politician and member of the following committees: the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Assembly of the WEU, the Interparliamentary European Security and Defence Assembly, the German Minority in North Schleswig Committee, the Frisian Ethnic Group in Schleswig-Holstein Committee and the European Centre for Minority Issues (ECMI).
Mr. Derek Wyatt MP
Mr. Wyatt was first elected to the House of Commons for the new constituency of Sittingbourne and Sheppey in north Kent in May 1997. Previously, Mr. Wyatt has been a Labour borough councillor for Archway in the borough of Haringey in north London. He was re-elected in June 2001 and again in May 2005. Before being elected as an MP, Mr. Wyatt was Director of The Computer Channel at BSkyB and travelled extensively throughout America from mid 1995 to research the internet and to assess its impact. Mr. Wyatt Parliamentary Private Secretary to Rt Hon Margaret Hodge, Arts Minister and Gerry Sutcliffe MP, Sports Minister from 2007-09 at DCMS and he is now Parliamentary Private Secretary to Lord Malloch Brown at the Foreign Office.
