Ms. Breshna Rabi MP

Brishna Rabi is currently a member of the Religious, Cultural and Higher Education Commission of Wolesi Jirga. Her successful 2010 parliamentary election campaign in Balkh Province was focused on women’s rights.

Before becoming a parliamentarian, Ms. Rabi served in the Directorate of Education, Balkh province as Director of Fatima Balkhi High School, for 25 years. She has received thirty-five degrees and certificates for her admirable work in cultural, religious and educational affairs. Further, she was awarded the Malalai Medal by the President of the Republic.

Ms. Anusha Rahman Khan MP

Ms. Rahman Khan is a member of Pakistan's National Assembly Standing Committees on Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs; Information Technology & Telecommunication, and Science & Technology. She is the General Secretary of the Young Parliamentary Forum of the National Assembly, and a founding member of the Parliamentary Caucus against Corruption. She is also on the Board of Punjab Education Endowment Fund and Government Fatima Jinnah College for Women, Lahore.

Secretary to the Chairman PML-N Re-organisation during the 2010-2011 re-organisation of the Party, Ms. Rahman Khan was the Central Vice President of the PML-N’s Lawyer’s Wing, and Deputy Convener, PML-N, Legal and Anti Rigging Wing. During the 2008 elections, she co-authored an election publication ‘Corrupt and Illegal Practices: A New Paradigm of Blatant Violations’.

Ms. Rahman Khan finished her studies in Law in 1992 and secured a Master in Law, specializing in Law and Economics of Regulated Industries from University College London, United Kingdom. Her legal practice has been in constitutional, corporate and telecommunication law. She also worked as in-house Corporate Legal Counsel for a multinational mobile telecommunication operator in Pakistan.

Mr. Obaidullah Rameen MP

Mr. Obaidullah Rameen has represented the Baghlan Province in Wolesi Jirga (House of Representatives), National Assembly of Afghanistan since 2010. He completed his higher education in Agricultural Economic Development, later adding a specialization in Agricultural Banking. Prior to his political career, he worked in agriculture and banking, and became the first elected president of the Chamber of Commerce of Afghanistan. He later served as the Minister for Agriculture for three years and after establishing the Import and Export Association of Afghanistan, he was elected its first President. 

Mr. Rameen is married and has four children.

Mr. Mike Rann, Premier

Labor’s Mike Rann became South Australia’s 44th Premier after the State election in March 2002 and was re-elected in March 2006. As well as his duties as Premier, Mr. Rann has assumed the portfolios of Economic Development, Social Inclusion, the Arts, and Sustainability and Climate Change. He was first elected to the South Australian Parliament in 1985 as the Member for Briggs, later Ramsay.

Ms. Rea was elected to the House of Representatives for Bonner, Queensland in 2007.She studied Arts at the University of Queensland and graduated with majors in English, History and Philosophy. Prior to entering parliament, Kerry represented the ward of Holland Park on Brisbane City Council from 1997.

 

Ms. Sherry Rehman

Ms. Sherry Rehman is a well-known Pakistani politician and journalist. She is a Member National Assembly of Pakistan and was appointed Chairperson of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in October 2011. Born in Karachi, she studied art, history and politics at Smith College, US and at the University of Sussex, UK. She was a Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan from March 2008 to March 2009.

Ms. Rehman interests in the National Assembly include foreign and security policy, women’s rights and mass media legislation. During her tenure in the Assembly, Sherry Rehman has proposed new legislation related to media freedom, women’s empowerment and human rights.

Sherry Rehman has been a professional journalist for twenty years. She had been an Editor of the Pakistani newsmagazine, Herald, for ten years. She regularly publishes articles in newspapers and magazines worldwide. From 1988-1998, she served as a member of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE). Ms. Rehman was the first Pakistani to receive the award for independent journalism by the UK House of Lords in its Muslim World Awards Ceremony 2002.

Sherry Rehman is an active supporter of better access to health and educational resources, particularly for women and children.
 

Mr. Gerold Reichenbach MdB

Mr. Reichenbach began his political career as a member of the German Social Democratic Part (SPD) in 1976. A teacher by training, Mr. Reichenbach held the position of Chairman of the SPD youth section from 1980-1981. In 1995 he was elected as Member of the Land Parliament of Hesse and sits on the Agriculture and the Environment and the Economics and Transport Committees. He is the current spokesman on housing and urban development of the SPD parliamentary group in the Land Parliament of Hesse. He was elected to the German Bundestag (constituency of Groß-Gerau) in 2002. Mr. Reichenbach is also a Member of the Committee on Internal Affairs in his capacity as SPD rapporteur for civil protection and disaster management. He has participated in several national and international disaster relief missions including in Costa Rica, Turkey, Russia, Bosnia, Albania, and Mozambique.

Mr. Arsim Rexhepi MP

Born in Prishtina, Mr. Arsim Rexhepi completed his postgraduate studies in Germany at Ruhr-Universität Bochum. A doctoral candidate of Philological Sciences, Mr. Rexhepi was lectured at Ruhr-Universität Bochum from 2003 to 2005. A Deputy of the Kosovo Assembly, Mr. Rexhepi is a member of the Committee for Education, Science, Technology, Culture, Youth and Sports.

Ms. Shahgul Rezaie

Shahgul Rezaie was born in 1979. She studied Law and Political Science at the University of Kabul. Before she became active in politics, Ms. Rezaie was a teacher and the principle in Zainabia Girl High School, in Jaghori, Ghazni. In 2005, she was elected to represent Ghazni Province in National Assembly of Afghanistan, the lower house of its National Legislature.

Mr. Romeva is a politician from Barcelona, Spain, and Member of the European Parliament for ICV - Iniciativa per Catalunya Verds, part of the European Greens and sits on the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs and is Vice-President of the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality. Mr. Romeva holds a graduate degree in Economics and a Doctorate in international relations. He has done work with the UN including as a Research Analyst in armed conflict and post-war rehabilitation, a consultancy on post-war rehabilitation and disarmament. Mr. Romeva has published several books on armed conflicts and peace building.
