Dr. Qawasmi was born in Jerusalem and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in medicine in 1987. In 1993 she finished studies in Obstetrics and Gynecology at King Hussein Medical Center in Jordan, after which she went on to complete a sub-specialty in IVF in the United States. Dr. Qawasmi was elected member of the PLC in 2006 and has been a member of the Palestinian High council for Motherhood and Childhood since 1997. She is also actively involved in various social and political bodies including the Palestinian Women’s Union, the Hebron Ladies Society in Palestine, and the Regional Fateh Movement Committee in Hebron, among others.
