Mr. Abdullah Abdullah MP

Mr. Abdullah has been a member of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) since 1969. From 1972-1990 he was the PLO's representative to Canada and from 1990-2003 was the Ambassador of Palestine to Greece. Mr. Abdullah also formerly held the position of Deputy Foreign Minister (2003-2005). He has been a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) since 2006 and was elected Chairman of the PLC in April 2006. He has been a member of the Palestinian National Council since 1979 and chairs the Committee on Parliamentary Affairs. He is frequently invited to attend various regional and international conferences.

Ms. Angelika Beer

Ms. Beer is a German former member of the European Parliament. She is also a former member of the German Bundestag, was head of the Green Party in Germany, and held the position of Coordinator of the international campaign against land mines for Medico International. She was a member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, and remains active in various other organizations including the Berlin Information Centre for Transatlantic Security and sits on the advisory board of the Forum for Civil Peace Service.

Mr. Zitto Zuberi Kabwe

Hon. Kabwe is a trained economist from University of Dar es Salaam who later received professional training on International Marketing in Germany. He joined struggles for Multiparty democracy in Tanzania at the age of 16 and since then has been a member of CHADEMA political party. CHADEMA is a centre-centre right party with orientation on market economy. Hon. Kabwe is currently a member of Parliament representing Kigoma North and he chairs a Parliamentary standing committee on Public Investments. He keenly pursues the African transition to a continent free of conflicts. He was an election observer in DR Congo in 2006 and before in Ghana in 2004. In parliament his interests are Trade, Mineral and governance issues. Born in September 1976, Mr. Kabwe is a third born from a family of ten children of Mzee Kabwe and mama Shida.

Ms. Janelle Saffin MP

Ms. Saffin has founded many local initiatives and programs, including being one of the founders of the North Coast Breast Screening Program, and represented the New South Wales in the NSW Upper House from 1995 to 2003. Recently, she has worked as Senior Political Advisor to Timor-Leste's Nobel Peace Prize Recipient, H.E. President Jose Ramos-Horta. In that role Ms. Saffin was Liaison Officer with the International Stablisation Forces (ISF) including the Australian Troops deployed from 3RAR to Timor-Leste, and the National Police Forces from deploying countries. Ms. Saffin was elected as Member for Page at the 2007 federal election, and is a member of the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade and Chair of the Trade Committee.

Dip. Minou Tavárez Mirabal

Dip. Tavárez is a second term Deputy in the Dominican Congress and president of its commission of foreign relations and international cooperation. She holds a B.A. in Hispanic Philology, as well as master’s degrees in Hispanic Linguistics and Upper Management. She has been vice chancellor in charge of foreign policy and sub-secretary of foreign relations for consular matters in the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of her country. Is a member of the Central Committee of the ruling Dominican Party headed by President Leonel Fernandez, and also of the International Council of Parliamentarians for Global Action (PGA). Ms. Tavárez is also the daughter of two Dominican national heroes – Manuel Aurelio Tavárez Justo and Minerva Mirabal, both founders of the anti-dictatorship movement of the 1960's.
