Ms. Golalei Nur Safi MP
Parliament:
Wolesi Jirga, National Assembly of Afghanistan Ms. Golalei Nur Safi is a fervent women rights activist who has been a member of the Afghan Parliament since 2005. She represents the Balkh province in the north of Afghanistan in the Wolesi Jirga and is a member of High Peace Council.
Ms. Golalai Nur Safi has a medical degree from the Ukraine Medical University and worked as an ophthalmologist at the Kabul medical hospital. From 2002 to 2004, she temporarily immigrated, and upon return in 2004 she worked as a doctor for Medica Mondiale in Afghanistan dealing with traumatized women. From 2004 to 2005, she was the coordinator for the medical group in this organization.
