Krzysztof Lisek was elected as a Member of the European Parliament for Poland in June 2009, as a candidate of Platforma Obywatelska RP (Civic Platform).

He is a member of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, in which he holds the position of Vice-chairman of the Subcommittee on Security and Defence. He is also a member of the Delegation to the EU-Russia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee and a substitute member of the Committee on Development.

From 2005 to 2007, Mr. Lisek was a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Polish Parliament (Sejm), and from 2007-2009, he was the Chairman of this body. Since 2005, he has been a member of the Association of European Parliamentarians for Africa (AWEPA).
