Mr. Charles Goerens, MEP

 Charles Goerens joined the Luxembourg Democratic Party in 1979 and served as its Chairman from 1989 to 1994.  
 
Currently a Member of the European Parliament from Luxembourg, Mr. Goerens has been a MEP from 1982 to 1984 and 1994 to 1999. He is the Vice-Chair of the Delegation to the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly and a Member of the Committee on Development and Subcommittee on Human Rights.
 

He is also a substitute member of the Foreign Affairs and Budget Committees, and the Special Committee on the Financial, Economic and Social Crisis.
 
He was the former Luxembourgish Minister of Cooperation (development), Humanitarian Aid, Environment and Defence from 1999-2004.
