Ms. Kerry Rea MP

Ms. Rea was elected to the House of Representatives for Bonner, Queensland in 2007.She studied Arts at the University of Queensland and graduated with majors in English, History and Philosophy. Prior to entering parliament, Kerry represented the ward of Holland Park on Brisbane City Council from 1997.

Maria Vamvakinou, the Federal Member for Calwell, is the first Greek-born woman to be elected to Australia’s national parliament. Prior to entering Parliament Maria worked in various political roles, including as an Electorate Officer to Andrew Theophanous and Senator Kim Carr and she also worked as and Executive Assistant to Joan Kirner, Deputy Premier and Minister for Education and as a Personal Secretary to Andrew McCutcheon, Victorian Minister for Planning and Housing.

Senator Claire Moore

In 1994 Ms. Moore was elected the Branch Secretary of the Community and Public Service Union, a position she held until elected to the Senate in 2001. Ms. Moore took her position as a Senator for Queensland on July 1, 2002. Following in the footsteps of her mother, Senator Moore has always played an active role in community groups such as Australians for Native Title and Reconciliation (ANTAR). Senator Moore has been a member of Friends of ABC since 1988 and is a member of the Australian Republican Movement.

Scott Ludlam is an Australian Greens Senator for Western Australia. He was elected in the November 2007 federal election. A peace and environmental activist, Senator Ludlam has worked for a nuclear-free Australia and nuclear-free world. His work has spanned issues as diverse as preventing uranium mining at Jabiluka and Western Australia, Aboriginal land rights, peace, military bases, climate change, trade, globalisation, and energy market reform.

Mr. Gareth Evans

Mr. Evans spent 21 years in Australian politics, 13 of them as a Cabinet Minister. As a Foreign Minister he was best known internationally for his role in developing the UN peace plan for Cambodia, helping conclude the Chemical Weapons Convention, and helping initiate the new Asia Pacific regional economic and security architecture. Ms. Janelle Saffin MP

Ms. Saffin has founded many local initiatives and programs, including being one of the founders of the North Coast Breast Screening Program, and represented the New South Wales in the NSW Upper House from 1995 to 2003. Recently, she has worked as Senior Political Advisor to Timor-Leste's Nobel Peace Prize Recipient, H.E. President Jose Ramos-Horta. In that role Ms. Saffin was Liaison Officer with the International Stablisation Forces (ISF) including the Australian Troops deployed from 3RAR to Timor-Leste, and the National Police Forces from deploying countries. Mr. Jon Stanhope MLA

Mr. Stanhope MLA, is the Chief Minister of the ACT. He is also the ACT's Minister for Transport, Minister for Territory and Municipal Services, Minister for Business and Economic Development, Minister for Indigenous Affairs, and Minister for the Arts. Mr. Stanhope was first elected to the ACT Legislative Assembly in 1998 as a Member for Ginninderra and was elected Opposition Leader by the Labor Caucus in that year. He led the Labor Party to victory in the 20 October 2001 election. He was elected Chief Minister of the ACT at a sitting of the Legislative Assembly on 12 November 2001.

Ms. Vini Ciccarello MP

Ms. Ciccarello is the Member for Norwood. For the past 20 years, Ms. Ciccarello has been committed to the Norwood community and has served as Mayor of the City. Ms. Ciccarello continues to be a strong advocate on environmental issues, assisting small business, alternative modes of transport and social welfare issues.

He was first elected to the South Australian Parliament in 1985 as the Member for Briggs, later Ramsay.
