The Network aims to enhance cooperation with regional and national parliaments and parliamentarians with an interest in conflict prevention, peace, and stability.

The Conflict Prevention in Europe Initiative aims to ensure that conflict prevention and crisis management remain high on the agenda in the foreign and security policy institutions throughout Europe. The initiative focuses on streamlining conflict prevention efforts within the national assemblies in Europe. The Network also works towards supporting conflict prevention capacities in the EEAS and the Foreign Assistance Act and foster coherence and collaboration between the EU and the US as the two major donors in the world.
Declaration to the G20, London Summit April 2, 2009: The Declaration is a key Network document and was conceived by parliamentarians from across the globe. It plays a valuable role in bringing parliamentarians in each of these countries together to work towards the same goal – the prevention of violent conflict.
The Declaration is being distributed worldwide amongst the member countries of the G20 calling on them to properly resource conflict prevention efforts, to increase transparency in the use of these resources, and to help facilitate coordinated international responses to potential conflicts.
The Declaration is also being shared with a broad audience of key stakeholders including government, regional organizations, other parliamentary networks, the United Nations, and representatives of civil society.
Take action, write to your MP or locally elected representative and urge them to join the Network and sign the Declaration.
The Network members will work to support the development of practical policies and parliaments' capacities to address systemic factors of tensions, one of which is transboundary water resources. The African continent is particularly vulnerable to this threat given the shifting nature of interconnectivity, the weak governance models, the limited capacity and the number of shared transboundary natural resources systems.
